More than two thirds of our planet is covered by the world’s oceans, and their role in and impact on our lives cannot be overstated. It’s vital that we be good custodians of such important natural resources, so our children and children’s children can enjoy them as we have.
Many of us who have made our homes near the ocean have developed an affinity for the adventure and excitement of venturing out onto the sea and landing a big fish. The mission of The Sportfishing Conservancy is to promote and exercise sound practices that will ensure California fishing will be every bit as exhilarating in the future as it is today. They strive to bring sense and consensus in the midst of strongly conflicting viewpoints on the management of California’s oceanfront.
Knightling has aided The Sportfishing Conservancy’s efforts by building and launching their new website. Because information is the Conservancy’s primary tool, we formatted their site to highlight important news items, so visitors can stay abreast of events affecting California’s fishing climate. Embedded YouTube videos provide a more immersive presentation. We also implemented a survey feature that compiles and e-mails the results to the Conservancy, so they can easily gather information on the opinions and perceptions of their audience.
