Today I received this article from Search Insider about SEMPO's State of Search Engine Marketing Report 2010 by Rob Garner and thought my clients would find it interesting too.

Among the many other findings are the following:

- Due to the poor economic climate, 2009 was a slow year overall, but had a significant upturn in the fourth quarter. Overall the market is estimated to grow by 14% in 2010, and reach a value of $16.6 billion by the end of this year.

Adwords - Should you be spending the money?

Adwords (Pay Per Click Advertising through Google) is a great way to generate site traffic. It can be very affordable depending on your industry. If you are in a heavily saturated market it may not be in your best interest to advertise there. Some industries, such as insurance, will pay about $30 a click! That doesn't sound like a good return on investment to me. But if you are in a less competitive market you could potentially get a click for one cent. Sounds great, right? So how do you find out if your market is competitive or not? Google it.
